This Autumn I was able to visit a part of Ontario I had never been to before. Whislt not that far from a favorite of mine, Algonquin Park, this has a much different feel about it.
Beautiful views of the forests and lakes atop pink granite cliffs await the intrepid day walker. The canoeist is rewarded with serene tranquility of water lapping the hull and looking upward to the colourful low mountains.
Forests, peaks, swamps, beaches, animals, cloudscapes, colours, textures…a natural paradise for walkers, birders, campers, canoeists, photographers and artists.
Several of the Canadian artists from the Group of Seven where inspired by this place, and for me, I am certainly going back, regardless of the season or weather.
These photos are from just but a miniscule brief moment in time. Taken over just 3 days, the sun shone, blue skies turned to grey, clouds came a went, so too did the rain. Colours and shadows changed. Sometimes, a photo just can capture the ‘vibe’ of the forest, swamp, bog, coast, but I hope you find these images somewhat interesting. There is one photo (orange foliage) that is infact a mix of the visuable spectrum AND infrared spectrum. As for the light house image, yeah, I did some artistic effects to create a more dramatic look (because it’s just another photo of a light house in the distance).
